
Kirk Jackson is the owner/operator of Nashville Typewriter, a Typewriter repair & sales business based in his hometown of Nashville, TN.
Kirk got started in the Typosphere 6 years ago when a 1956 Remington Quiet-Riter discovered him wandering aimlessly around in a local antique store. One Typewriter grew into several, and he dedicated himself to learning the craft of Typewriter service and repair. He has managed to acquire over 400 machines in the years that followed, and was featured in The Tennessean, the principal daily newspaper in Nashville, Tennessee for his love of Typewriters and mission to keep them around for the next generation to be able to discover and enjoy. An interest became a hobby, then obsession, and has evolved into a business. Kirk currently spends most his days in his repair shop surrounded by what he loves most— Typewriters!

Processing & shipping timeframes can vary dependent on both controllable/uncontrollable circumstances, but most orders will be processed and shipped within 5 business days unless unforeseen circumstance* or client request.
*Natural disasters, shipping issues, adjustments needed, additional services requested, etc.

Nashville Typewriter uses UPS exclusively for Typewriter shipping fulfillment with the exception of smaller items such as stickers, t-shirts, ribbons, parts.
Shipping in the continental US is free.
*If a different carrier is requested, we’ll make every effort to accommodate.

Returns & refunds are reviewed on a case by case basis.
In the event of a malfunction or critical performance issue within 30 days of receipt, Nashville Typewriter will repair or replace the Typewriter free of charge.*
In the event the Typewriter is damaged in shipping, Nashville Typewriter will offer either repair, replacement, or a full refund to make it right.*
*This policy is contingent on assuming the Typewriter has not been misused, dropped, or otherwise altered from the state it left in. “Buyers remorse” returns won’t be outright denied, but reviewed on a case by case basis and subject to a 10% restocking fee.
Return shipping is paid by the client in returns.

Nashville Typewriter typically doesn’t offer deadlines on repair/service requests due to an ever increasing interest in their services provided and growing backlog. We will do our best to get your machine back to its intended purpose as quickly as possible, but sales takes precedence in our current business model and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Nashville Typewriter currently doesn’t offer international sales via website due to extensive tariff & tax structures per individual countries. However, individual requests for purchase are welcome and will be accommodated if within our ability to do so. Please reach out if interested and we’ll do our best to get you taken care of.

Nashville Typewriter doesn’t offer an explicit warranty or guarantee on Typewriter purchase or repair work given the age and complexity of the machines in question. However, should an issue arise with a purchase or repair job, we will of course work with each client to resolve the issue and make it right.
