I find it funny that a Swiss made machine is commonly referred to as "The Cadillac of Portable Typewriters", but it's an apt comparison! These feature rich machines are highly sought after and treasured for their precision, usability, and fine quality.
This is a really nice, highly sought after 1st gen model of the machine Tom Hanks named as his one luxury item to have on a desert island- The Hermes 3000.
The machine is in GREAT shape, and performs beautifully. The distinctive seafoam green paint is in wonderful condition, and perfectly accented by the pistachio green hardware. BOTH platen knobs are intact and original, a rarity in itself!
I adore the curves of this machine, and it’s a joy to write with.
It’s elite typeface is concise, professional, and fits more on the page at 12 characters per inch. It gives a very good imprint, especially with the BRAND NEW platen recovered by the fine folks at J.J. Short & Associates!
