1962 Olympia SM7 ** CURSIVE WIDE CARRIAGE **

$589.99

Olympia Script No. 69 Typeface (11 cpi)

It’s no secret that Olympia’s are my favorite brand… There are specific Typewriters I like more, but Olympia is MY BRAND.

The reason for this is the amount of thought that went into the creation of these amazing machines is mind-boggling. German precision, consistency, and a stunningly handsome, classic design that holds up well even now. The SM series is arguably one of the best ever made.

The SM7 was the last carriage shift machine in Olympias SM line before going to the basket shift of the SM8 - SM9. It was released at the same time as the SM5, with the SM5 marketed as the more budget model. The SM7 tends to be overlooked a bit, but is an absolute BEAST of a machine and one of my favorites to write with. Wide carriage machines are also some of my favorites as they effortlessly fit oddly sized paper, I’ve gotten in the habit of sending letters written longways as a result of these things.

This beautiful W I D E B O I has been stripped, cleaned, adjusted, and tested thoroughly to ensure it’ll hang with anything you throw at it. Olympias cursive script No. 69 is pretty & whimsical, but still easy to read as.

The platen still has some bounce as well, so the imprint is wonderful!

The action is like most SM’s, quick, snappy, and consistent. The case is in good condition, and it does a great job at protecting the machine. It is mechanically as nice as you could ask for, very quick, very precise, all functions perform flawlessly, and makes a great imprint on the page. The action is quick, snappy, and tight, and the carriage shift has been adjusted to be on the lighter side for quick writing.

This is NOT an "as-is" typewriter. It has been lovingly cleaned, oiled, serviced, and thoroughly tested to ensure it'll hang with whatever you decide to write with it.

It comes with everything you see in the pictures and more;

Your choice of ribbon on vintage metal spools(installed), a reprinted original owners manual, the typewriter, its handsome hard case, an OFFICIAL Nashville Typewriter sticker and hand-typed note from me, the typeface text sample, and even a few sheets of paper to get you started on your path to analog independence and distraction-free writing!

Shipping is free in the continental US, and estimates can be had for global buyers. I genuinely LOVE Typewriters, and pack them very well.
