1960 Olympia SM4 *Repose Gray* **W I D E CARRIAGE**

The Olympia SM series are arguably some of the finest ever produced. After a few sentences typed on one, you’ll understand why!
The SM3 became the template for Olympias future in the portable Typewriter world. Improvements were made as the years progressed, but the base design remained largely the same. The SM4 added keyboard tabulation to the SM3 base design, and was a very popular model.
This AWESOME W I D E carriage machine has been stripped, cleaned, adjusted, and it has new frame bushings, rejuvenated feed rollers & platen. The spring loaded keytops make this a very nice typing machine! The classic pica typeface(font) is crisp and professional at 10 characters per inch, the action quick and tight, and the carriage shift has been adjusted to be light as a feather. The silver gray paint is in good shape, a bit of patina here and there, but nothing to detract from the overall aesthetic of such a timeless classic. The wide carriage is a cool feature for this machine, it allows for the use of larger sized paper, or even just turning standard letter size sideways. I personally LOVE wide carriage machines, they just mean business!
This color combination is one of my favorites Olympia offered. The light repose gray is matched beautifully by the dark burgundy keys and knobs. Such a handsome machine!
It comes with a enormous case that is in good condition as well, but a machine of this size really deserves a designated writing spot. **It absolutely LOVES living on a desk! :)
