SCM Artistic Type No. 7 Typeface (12 cpi)

Classic, yet modern.

Considered by many to be the pinnacle of SCM portables, the Galaxie line of Typewriters are fantastic machines.

This machine is the Galaxie era example of a model that Smith Corona started in the 1930’s and continued until they quit producing Typewriters. It’s the electric evolution of the Galaxie and features a motor that powers both the keys and the shift, but leave the rest of the machine manual. Best of both worlds!

The 50's era Smith Coronas were(and are) a fine example of American design and quality that only improved as they moved into the 60’s and 70’s.

Smith Corona innovations in the Galaxie line of portable Typewriters led to some of the best selling Typewriters in Smith Coronas history, it’s easy to see why after a few sentences typed on one.

A true writers machine; the keystrokes are virtually effortless, the carriage smooth, and artistic script typeface is wonderfully crisp. This typer will handle anything you throw at it! The whimsical cursive is beautiful. It’s a very loopy script that’s easy to read, and adds a fun flair to writing. It is a single color machine however, as some of the capital letters dip below the lines.

It is in very good condition. The paint, plastic, and mechanics are all virtually untouched by the years. The case is the classic SCM metal ones, in almost as nice of shape as the machine, and does a fine job protecting the machine. The Typewriter locks into the bottom of the case with a smart design that incorporates the lid latch. Really durable, really handsome. This is the earliest of the Coronet models, and a very classy looking workhorse.

This is NOT an "as-is" typewriter.

It has been lovingly cleaned, oiled, serviced, and thoroughly tested to ensure it'll hang with whatever you decide to write with it.

It comes with everything you see in the pictures and more;

A brand spankin' new solid black or bichrome red/black ribbon on vintage Smith Corona metal spools(installed), the original owners manual & paperwork, the typewriter, it's case & key, an OFFICIAL Nashville Typewriter sticker and hand-typed note from me, the typeface text sample, and even a few sheets of paper to get you started on the path to analog independence and distraction free writing!

FREE shipping in the continental US, estimates available for international buyers upon request.
