Pica Typeface (10cpi)

Classic.

Iconic.

Italian.

The Olivetti Lettera 32 was the next iteration in the Lettera model line. Following the Lettera 22, it made a significant splash in the US market after its 1964 US release for its unique and different design, compact footprint, and snappy performance. Olivetti was focused on making functional machines, but also beautiful ones.

The model was released in Italy in 1963, but didn’t become available in the US until 1964. It was the evolution of the wildly popular Lettera 22, and it took the US market by storm when revealed.

The design is the result of years of innovation and improvements made by Olivetti. It remained virtually unchanged in it's design for the years that followed and was used as a base design for many other of Olivetti’s models. (Including the iconic and stunning Valentine!)

This particular machine is possibly the nicest I’ve come across, the paint is virtually immaculate, the case is perfect, and it even has the original Olivetti branded dust cover and cleaning tool kit! In case you’re wondering about durability, Cormac McCarthy wrote almost every novel he’s published on one of these he bought in a pawn shop in Knoxville, TN in the 1960’s. After it finally broke down, it later sold for well over 6 figures at auction to a private collector.

This machine is a nice performing, reliable, and classic example of Olivetti’s craftsmanship. The pica typeface is classy, yet easy on the eyes at 10 characters per inch. An early model, made in the more desirable Ivrea factory in Italy.

Beloved by collectors and writers, this is a feature-rich machine that's fun to use and easy to take with you.

This is NOT an "as-is" typewriter.

It has been lovingly cleaned, oiled, serviced, and thoroughly tested to ensure it'll hang with whatever you decide to write with it.

It comes with everything you see in the pictures and more;

YOUR CHOICE of a solid black, or bichrome black/red ribbon available in nylon or cotton on original Olivetti metal spools(installed), a reprinted original owners manual, the typewriter, the handsome zippered case, an OFFICIAL Nashville Typewriter sticker and hand-typed note from me, the typeface text sample, and even a few sheets of paper to get you started on your path to analog independence and distraction-free writing!

Shipping is FREE in the continental US via UPS, estimates available for international clients.
