1920 Corona Three Folding **Personal Collection**

1920 Corona 3 Folding Portable Typewriter

*Pica - 10 cpi

A perfect blend of functionality and vintage charm.

A wonderful example of American industrial design from the era where Typewriters were starting to transition into heavy personal usage after becoming the industry standard for businesses. Its smart design allowed for folding the entire carriage portion down over the keyboard of the machine, allowing for a tiny size profile that opened a whole new realm of possibility for writers and journalists.

Though it is small, lightweight, and seemingly delicate, the Corona 3 manages to actually be pretty tough. In the relentless advertisements, one print ad actually showed a man throwing the Typewriter into a creek and retrieving it to type out a letter to his wife. *

*I do not recommend this. Ha.

The "3" designates it being a 3 bank keyboard, using both a capitol and a figures shift to produce the desired characters. There can be a bit of a learning curve even for seasoned Typewriter users to become proficient with a 3-bank machine, but what it does, it does very well.

Corona sold a TON of these, and for good reason.

They were handsome, compact, reliable, and affordable. A game changer for the Typewriting world.

In modern times, the Corona 3 is a great machine for those looking for classic aesthetic, functionality, and history.

With its lightweight, compact design, the Corona 3 easily fits into a satchel or backpack, making it ideal for writers on the go. Whether you’re crafting poems in a café or jotting down ideas in the park, this little machine will deliver!

It's in great condition, the paint and mechanics are both in very fine shape. The case shows wear, but still functions very well at protecting and transporting this stunning little machine. It has a NOS platen out of a lot purchased from a old Typewriter Repair shop, and though old, still has a lot of life left in it.

It has been lovingly cleaned, oiled, serviced, and thoroughly tested to ensure it'll hang with whatever you decide to write with it.

It comes with everything you see in the pictures and more;

YOUR CHOICE of a brand spankin' new solid black, or bichrome (red/black) ribbon available in cotton or nylon on vintage Smith Corona specific metal spools(installed), a reprinted original owners manual, the typewriter, hard case, an OFFICIAL Nashville Typewriter sticker and hand-typed note from me, the typeface text sample, and even a few sheets of paper to get you started on the path to analog independence and distraction free writing!

Has been disassembled, cleaned, oiled lightly in the spots that are supposed to be, and serviced by someone that LOVES typewriters.
